We would like to introduce our new Tap and go ID cards.
Hidden disabilities/vulnerabilities don't have physical signs and include learning difficulties, mental health as well as mobility, speech, visual or hearing impairments.
The scheme has no age limit - it is available to be used by all ages. The parent or carer can wear the lanyard if it is not suitable for the person with the hidden disability/vulnerability to wear the Tap and go ID Card . It is aimed at those whose disability/vulnerability makes it difficult for them to communicate when calling or speaking face to face. It’s designed to make it easier to contact the their emergency contact quickly and easily. It’s a secure database which contains details registered by an individual. The Tap and go ID card is being introduced at a local level, covering North and East London. It is credit card sized and has space for the person’s name and photo, medical condition, details of an emergency contact person is embedded in the card. They can be accessed simply by tapping your mobile phone on the card or scanning the QR code. and other useful information such as communication needs or requirements in an emergency.
